Terms of Use

Last updated: 29.08.2026

Questa pagina è pubblicata solo in inglese. Il testo inglese è la versione che fa fede.

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and WIZHUT TECH SINGLE MEMBER P.C., operating under the name Wizhut.tech ("Wizhut.tech", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your use of the EasyHomebrew macOS application — including the main application and the menu-bar agent (together, the "App") — and of this website at easyhomebrew.wizhut.tech (the "Site").

By downloading, installing, activating, or using the App, or by using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App, and stop using the Site.

How the App handles information is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

1. Who we are

  • Company: WIZHUT TECH SINGLE MEMBER P.C.
  • Trading name: Wizhut.tech
  • Registered address: 52 Artis, Agios Dimitrios, Athens, Attica, Greece
  • Support email: support@wizhut.tech

2. What the App is

EasyHomebrew is a native macOS application that provides a graphical interface for Homebrew, the third-party package manager for macOS. It helps you discover, install, update, remove, and understand Homebrew formulae and casks, manage background services, review diagnostics, and check installed packages against published vulnerability data.

The App is a client for Homebrew; it is not Homebrew. Homebrew, the packages it distributes, and their upstream projects are developed and operated by third parties who are not affiliated with us and do not endorse the App. Installing or removing a package changes your system through Homebrew, exactly as running the equivalent command in a terminal would.

3. Eligibility and system requirements

You must be at least sixteen (16) years old, and legally able to enter into a binding contract, to purchase a license or use the App. The App is intended for software developers and technically experienced users.

The App requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and a working Homebrew installation. Some features — including the on-device Apple Intelligence features — require a newer version of macOS and supported hardware, and are unavailable otherwise. Meeting the stated requirements is your responsibility; we describe them on the download page before purchase.

4. License

4.1 What you get

The App is unlocked with a one-time license key. Subject to these Terms and to payment in full, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App for your own personal or internal business purposes.

We sell a license to use the App; we do not sell the App itself. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by us and our licensors.

4.2 Devices and activation

A license key may be activated on the number of Macs stated at checkout. Activating the App occupies an activation slot for that Mac; deactivating it from within the App frees that slot so the license can be used on another Mac. The menu-bar agent runs under the same license as the main application and does not consume a separate slot.

The App re-validates your license key periodically. It continues to work for a limited grace period without a network connection, so that a temporary outage does not lock you out; after that period, validation is required to keep using the App.

4.3 What you may not do

You may not:

  • share, publish, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise distribute your license key;
  • circumvent, disable, or interfere with licensing, activation, or update mechanisms;
  • copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent such acts are expressly permitted by applicable law (including the limited interoperability rights under Directive 2009/24/EC), and then only after you have asked us for the information you need;
  • remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice;
  • use the App to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, or to gain unauthorised access to systems or data.

5. Purchase, price, and payment

A license costs a one-time €10. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases; a change never affects a license you have already bought.

Payments are processed by our payment and licensing provider, Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record for the sale. Your purchase is therefore also subject to that provider's terms, and the payment details you enter at checkout are handled by it — we never receive your card number. Applicable taxes are calculated and charged at checkout.

Your license key is delivered by email to the address you give at checkout. If it does not arrive, write to support@wizhut.tech and we will resend it.

6. Refunds and right of withdrawal

30-day money-back guarantee. If the App does not earn its €10, email support@wizhut.tech within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you — no questions asked. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Dodo Payments. Once a refund is issued, your license key is deactivated and you must stop using the App.

This guarantee is offered voluntarily and is in addition to — not instead of — your statutory rights. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you normally have a fourteen (14) day right of withdrawal for digital content. Because the App is supplied immediately upon purchase, you are asked at checkout to consent to immediate supply and to acknowledge that this causes your right of withdrawal to lapse. Our 30-day guarantee applies regardless, and is more generous than the statutory period.

7. Updates and changes to the App

The App checks for and installs updates through the Sparkle update framework. Updates within the same major version are included in your license at no further cost. A future major version may be offered as a separate paid upgrade; if it is, your existing license continues to work with the version it covers.

We may add, change, or remove features, and may discontinue the App or any of its features. Where a change materially reduces functionality you paid for, we will act reasonably and, where appropriate, offer a refund. Third-party services the App depends on may also change or disappear, which can affect features that rely on them (section 8).

8. Third-party services and content

The App connects to third-party and public infrastructure services to do the things you ask of it — Homebrew's package API, the OSV vulnerability database, GitHub release notes, a public favicon service, package homepages, and our payment and licensing provider. These connections and the data they carry are described in the Privacy Policy.

We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, content, or terms. Package metadata, install counts, release notes, descriptions, screenshots, icons, and vulnerability records originate with third parties and are provided to you as they are provided to us. Software you install through the App is licensed to you by its own authors under its own terms, not by us.

9. AI-assisted features

Where your Mac supports them, the App uses Apple Intelligence to generate short package descriptions, categorise packages, and rewrite Brew Doctor warnings in plain language. These features run on your device, are optional, and are convenience aids.

AI-generated output can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Do not rely on it as the sole basis for a decision about installing, removing, or trusting a package. Where it matters, check the package's own documentation.

10. Vulnerability scanning is not a security guarantee

The App matches your installed packages against publicly published advisories and shows you what it finds. This is a useful signal, not a security audit, a penetration test, or a warranty of any kind.

A clean scan does not mean your system is secure: advisories are published late or not at all, version matching is imperfect, upstream data can be wrong, and vulnerabilities exist that nobody has reported yet. You remain responsible for the security of your own systems and for deciding what to do about anything the App reports.

11. Your responsibilities

The App acts on your Mac at your instruction. You are responsible for:

  • the operations you run through it — installing, upgrading, uninstalling, cleaning up caches, and starting or stopping services, some of which cannot be undone;
  • keeping current backups of your system and data before making changes;
  • the packages you choose to install, and compliance with their licenses;
  • keeping your license key confidential;
  • your use of the App in a work environment, including any employer policy that applies to it.

12. Intellectual property

The App, the Site, and their design, code, text, graphics, and branding are owned by Wizhut.tech or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. "EasyHomebrew" and "Wizhut.tech" are our trade names. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of anything to you.

"Homebrew" and other third-party names and marks referred to in the App or on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the software they name. Their use does not imply any affiliation or endorsement.

The App includes third-party open-source components, which remain subject to their own licenses. Where those licenses grant you rights that are broader than these Terms, those rights prevail for the components concerned.

13. Feedback

If you send us ideas, suggestions, or bug reports, we may use them without restriction and without owing you compensation. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential.

14. The Site

The Site is informational. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current. You may not attempt to disrupt it, access it by automated means that place an unreasonable load on it, or use it to distribute malware. Analytics on the Site are governed by the consent banner and the Privacy Policy.

15. Warranties and disclaimer

We provide the App with reasonable care and skill, and we warrant that it will perform substantially as described on this Site.

Beyond that, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the App and the Site are provided "as is" and "as available", without further warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be free of defects or interruptions, that every defect will be corrected, that it will be compatible with every configuration of macOS or Homebrew, or that the third-party data it displays will be accurate or complete.

If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights — including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content under EU law. Those rights exist alongside these Terms and cannot be limited by them.

16. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, or loss of goodwill;
  • we are not liable for loss of or damage to data, or for the cost of restoring it, arising from package operations, cleanup, or service changes you carried out through the App — keeping backups is your responsibility under section 11;
  • we are not liable for damage caused by third-party software you installed through the App, or by the acts, omissions, inaccuracies, or unavailability of third-party services;
  • our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the App, or the Site is limited to the amount you paid us for your license in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

17. Term, suspension, and termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the App or the Site. You may end them at any time by deactivating your license and uninstalling the App.

We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms — in particular by sharing or publishing a license key, circumventing activation, or using the App unlawfully. Where the breach can be put right, we will tell you and give you a reasonable opportunity to do so, unless the breach is serious or repeated. If we terminate your license without cause, we will refund the unused portion of what you paid, calculated reasonably.

On termination, your right to use the App ends and you must uninstall it. Sections 12, 15, 16, 18, and 19 survive.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, to our business, or to legal requirements. The current version is always published on this page with the date it took effect.

The version in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Changes are not retroactive, and material changes affecting an existing license will not apply to you without reasonable notice — for example an in-app notice or an email. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Athens, Greece have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. We are happy to try to resolve anything directly first — write to support@wizhut.tech.

20. General

  • Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the terms you accept at checkout, are the whole agreement between us about the App and the Site.
  • Severability: if a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the provision is replaced by the closest enforceable equivalent.
  • No waiver: not enforcing a right on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice, and never to your detriment as a consumer.
  • Force majeure: neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Language: these Terms are published in English, and the English text is the authoritative version.
